護照外文名明年母語也OK

（中央社記者唐佩君台北8日電）外交部今天表示，為尊重多元民意需求，明年元旦起將增訂民眾可以依其姓名母語讀音的英文字母作為外文別名。

外交部領務局護照行政組組長陳尚友今天在例行記者會上表示，為尊重民意多元需求，將在「護照條例施行細則」修正草案中增訂以母語音譯為外文別名，預計自明年1月1日起實行。

陳尚友舉例，以客家族群為例，若姓黃的民眾，現行以國語音譯是Huang，但若以客語發音是Wong，因此未來可以用Wong為「外文別名」。

他進一步說明，這項作法是依當事人視其需求申辦，但申請後無法隨意變更，請民眾在使用外文別名時要特別慎重。1041208
